There are many things to keep in mind when you’re creating a website and mobility is one of them. Internet users are hopping online using one of their mobile devices whether that’s a smartphone or tablet, more than ever. And they’re not going to stop anytime soon. Because of this, you need to make sure that your site is customized for mobile before you do almost anything else with it.
When a website is not mobile and someone tries to view it on their mobile device, links may appear broken, text may be too small to actually read, and the website overall may just not function or open in their browser. This is a sure-fire way to turn users off and encourage them to go see what your competition has to offer instead.
Even more than that however, mobile is becoming more important than ever in the eyes of Google. In one of their latest algorithm releases, Google made it very clear that they wouldn’t just award websites that were mobile-friendly, but that they would actually penalize those that aren’t. This means that if your site isn’t mobile-friendly, it will automatically appear lower in the search engine rankings than those that are. And that means customers won’t be able to find your website, or your company.
